Obviously the school campaign is going to mean a significant amount of funding is going to be needed to pay for it. We are going to be kicking off a series of work based around community fundraising and getting more in for the people of Cumbernauld.
A lot of major funders require some form of matched giving so that they can see the community has a need and a want for the service. With that in mind we’re launching our first stage of fundraising with a slightly unusual method of fundraising! We’ve teamed up with the folks at Everyclick to launch Give as you live for Cumbernauld House Trust – a method of fundraising that means you do nothing new but the companies who you buy from online give us a cut of the sale! How cool is that?
All you need to do is sign up for the service by click the link on the right hand side of this page and the little plugin for your browser will run in the background then when you go onto sites such as Amazon, Play.com, Sainsburys, Expedia, HMV or the trainline it will ask if you want to fundraise then all that happens is that the marketing revenue that gets paid to referral sites for your purchase (everytime you click through from the likes of Google this happens) goes to the trust and not to Google or one of the big search engines!
It’s simple, unobtrusive and will give us a new form of revenue at the same time as you shop online. We trialled this recently with one of our admins and we brought in over £20 in just one month. If we have many folks doing this then we will hopefully raise some much needed revenue.
Also – for a limited time if we can get 25 people to sign up and then purchase at least £10 worth online (bear in mind this is not asking you to do anything but buy the things you already buy) then we will get £5 extra for each person signing up!!
So the next time you do your Tesco shop online then think that that a percentage of that shop could go to us instead of Tesco! There are so many shops and online services doing this it’s easy to rack up a fair amount of funds by doing nothing at all.
