The Trust

The trust is dedicated to the community of Cumbernauld.  Originally set up with the ideal of restoring Cumbernauld House to public ownership and helping to address the poor image of the town.  After Cumbernauld House was purchased by a developer the trust has maintained a watching brief on the house and is exploring other projects within the town which can further public education and pride in the town we call home.

Currently the Trust is working on converting the, now derelict, former Cumbernauld Primary School, located in Cumbernauld Village, into a sustainable Community and Heritage Hub. Feasibility Studies have been completed by Malcolm Fraser Architects and Jura Consultants, thanks to grants from the Big Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland, and we are now working on raising the funding to carry out the work required.

Our committee is currently comprised of the following members:

* Adam Smith – Chair

* Scott Fergus – Treasurer

* Philip Morgan-Klein

* Ann MacEwan

* Now You’re Talking
